A conversation between Adam & Emma after he finished reading her books before bed tonight:
Adam: "I'm so tired today Emma."
Emma: "Well you still need to rub my feet for me."

A Bit of Separation Anxiety
When Logan awoke for his nap yesterday I went in to get him. I asked him if he had a good nap and he replied.
"Yes. Can I keep my penis?"

The Come-Back Kid
Emma and Logan were having an argument this morning when she told him something he was not very excited about. His response?
"I'm going to knock you down like a bowling pin. Get it? I be the ball and you be the pin and I knock you down."
It's just not as effective when you have to explain it in so much detail.

There Was a Mix-Up Along the Way
I know we share the same genetics and the child looks exactly like me but we couldn't be any different. She loves to wear dresses, loves animals and (gasp) bugs. But it was none more apparent than this morning when I awoke to her lying next to me in bed watching monster truck races.
I'm not sure where I went wrong.

A 3:30 a.m. conversation with a 2 year old
Early this morning I heard Logan hollering from his bedroom.
"Momma, come here. Momma, come here right now. Momma, I need you."
When I went in to see what the problem was he said,
"Do piders (no s at the beginning) have tongues?"
Inquiring minds want to know...even if it's at the buttcrack of dawn.

A Freak of Nature
First of all let me start by saying I'm not a fan of wildlife. I have horrendous anxiety about flying, stinging bugs & tiny critters who can possibly be nicknamed Mickey or Templeton. So you can imagined my panic attack upon finding this on my screen door today.
I live in an apartment building....a very crowded apartment building. THIS should not be so close that I can snap it's picture freely.
Did you see that? It's looking at me. I think it may be rabid.
UPDATE: It turns out the neighbor's cat had done some damage to this poor fellow and was laying in wait behind our wood stack. But my heart is still racing. Logan, by the way, loved it and named it Gabriella.
I'm glad my phobias aren't hereditary.

Not Quite Grasping the Vocab
Logan was stealing grape tomatoes out of Adam's salad with gusto this evening. I asked him if he liked them and he said:
"I love to eat these. They are disgusting."

The Simple Pleasures in Life
For those of you who don't know, Emma has been betrothed to my best friend Deirdre's son Ricky since they were 3 months old. The other day they were talking about their upcoming wedding when this conversation occurred.
Emma: "We should have a honeymoon."
Ricky: "What's that?"
Emma: "It's when you go on vacation after your wedding."
Ricky: "Oh, where should we go?"
Emma: "How about Chuck E Cheese?"
Ricky: "That would be so cool."
All you need in life is a few tokens, some really bad pizza and a little love.

He's A Little Confused
Emma was trying desperately to get Logan to sit on the couch and watch her cheerleading routine this morning. As he repeatedly refused, her voice got louder and louder and louder til he finally said.
"I'm a boy. I don't yike cheerleading. I yike the princesses."

So Now We Know Why She Is Always Cranky in the Morning
Emma was upset this morning that she was punished from watching t.v and playing video games for being continuously disrespectful. When I told her that all she needs to do is change her behavior and she can earn her privileges back she informed me:
"I'll just wait until you go to bed and then I'll play Wii and drink all of your beer."
Funny but that's the same threat that Adam throws out every now and then.
