Easter Bunny Pictures 2008

Here are the kids pictures with the Easter Bunny. Logan was so excited, he ran right up and jumped on his lap. Emma said she was scared and didn't want her pictures taken so I decided to just get Logan. $25 later we were done.
Or so I thought. Emma changed her mind but she refused to sit next to the big guy so they had to pull in a chair. I thought maybe the proprietors would take pity on me and only charge me for one session. I thought wrong.
4 pictures....50 bucks

Great Bed Time Quotes

I asked Emma if she would sweep the kitchen floor after dinner because she was the best sweeper I knew.

Her response: "No I'm not. It's not like I have a 6 year old stuck in me."

Logan to me as I was tucking him in:

"Momma when I close my eyes, I see me."

Climbing Back Into Her Shell

We had the MP3 player blasting in the kids room this morning while we danced up a storm. I should say Logan & I were cutting the rug while Emma looked on solemnly. When I asked her what was wrong and why she wasn't dancing she said:

"I have stage fright."

It's Still Rock & Roll To Me

After dropping Emma off at school today, Logan and I were listening to the radio when Billy Joel's Piano Man came on.

Logan: "Momma, dis rock & roll?"
Me: "Yes, this is Billy Joel."
Logan: "No dis rock & roll."
Me: "Yes, this is Billy Joel singing rock & roll."
Logan: "NO DIS ROCK & ROLL!!!!!!!!"

Not wanting to upset the demons further, I quietly agreed with him.

Whatever You Do Don't Feed Them After Midnight

In the past few days my son has hit the terrible two's with the gusto of a fat man at an all you can eat buffet. Apparently he has also been quietly taking in his sister's diarrhea of the mouth while she is in time-out. After dumping out his cereal bowl for the third time this morning, I put him in the naughty spot and was treated to these phases:

"Momma zis no fair."

"I no sit in time-out."

"You can't catch me na na na na."

"I bang my head." (Followed by crying after he banged his head)

"You dee-dic-a-less." (You're ridiculous...one of Emma's favorites)

"I'm ready to be a good boy." (Said over and over in an increasingly louder volume)

"Am I done?"

"Am I done?"

"AM I DONE?"

At last 2 minutes were up and he walked over to me, hugged my knees and said, "I'm sorry Momma. I zove you." Sweet-as-pie.

I suddenly had a panicked feeling, like when Billy accidentally spilled water on Gizmo in the Gremlins movie, that they were beginning to multiply before my very eyes.

Who Needs Dolls When You Have Ink

Most 4 year old girls like pink and frills. They enjoy playing house and Barbies. Well by now I think we all know that Emma isn't like most 4 year old girl. She enjoys playing.......drum roll please....tattoo parlor. Her newest obsession is TLC's L.A. Ink. Here she is dressed like her favorite tattoo artist Kat Von D. Now if you are unfamiliar with the show you wouldn't know that Kat has a bunch of stars inked around her face so Emma choose to strategically place stickers on her own. Then the games began. I was her first "client". Fortunately for me, she choose the old-fashioned tattoos that are applied with water not needles. Unfortunately the tattoo wasn't properly moistened and I ended up with this on my arm.
Logan's luck was even worse. His bulldog in a figure 8 tattoo turned out like this.
I think she needs to practice her art a bit more. Maybe Kat Von D needs an apprentice.

Snow Fun (Pun At No Extra Cost To You)

Building a snow castle Look a smile..by Logan..in the snow
Our sad attempt at a snowman (outfit courtesy of Grandpa Snow & Donna). The snow was so fluffy it was hard to get it to conform to our standards.
Flashing the peace signs
Look Logan put his hand in the snow. You'll also notice that he hasn't moved at all.
And on the plus side I didn't put my camera through the spin cycle. Yippee!!

Troy F&*$in Bolton

This poster in the kids room seems completely harmless and benign right? To women ages 4-40, this might even be endearing (or dreamy as Emma says)
But at 2 a.m. in the pitch dark, after tucking my son back into bed, this looked like a small boy hiding behind the kid's door.
And because of this, I lost 6 years off my life and a perfectly good pair of pajama bottoms.

Come Out Come Out Wherever You Are

Since no one ever comments anymore I need to know I'm not just writing this for my own amusement however much it does bring me joy. If you read you must leave a comment. Or I will hunt you down. And tickle you mercilessly. Until you wet yourself. And then I'll laugh at your wet pants. And take a picture. And post it on the blog that you may or may not read.

A 4 Year Old's Words of Wisdom

I was trying to put something together today and was having marginally success. When the under-the-breath cursing began, Emma stepped in and asked to see the directions. She then proceeded to "read" them to me.

"Momma it says, 'Be strong. Never give up."

She is a wise young sage.

The Song Stylings of Logan J. Snow

Logan was in the kitchen singing his new song at the top of his little lungs.

"I zike fingers. I zike fingers. Zey on my hands. I zove zem."

I expected his big number to be followed by jazz hands but alas he disappointed me.

Another Day of Word Vomit

We have been trying desperately to get Emma to use her words when it comes to dealing with a certain pesky little brother. She usually solves his annoyance of her by shoving him into the nearest wall. She did attempt to speak her frustrations today after the third time he knocked down her fort by saying:

"Logan I'm so mad at you..it's like I'm talking to myself."

Practice makes perfect.

The Hunger Strike Is Over

After a few weeks of the normal toddler behavior of limited meals and countless "I don't zike that..it's goss.", the boy is eating again. Logan sat down at breakfast this morning and ate 2 waffles, half of an apple, a handful of raisins and a handful of Cheerios. He then yelled, "Mommy I ate my beckfast. Can I have dessert?"

Making The Most of Each Day

Driving down the street today Logan told Emma and me:

"Hey guys, I'm zivin."

We tried numerous attempts to figure out what he was saying...his l's and t's become z's and he sometimes drops letters altogether. We asked him a bunch of questions and 15 minutes later finally deciphered what he was saying.

"Hey guys, I'm living."

It's all about the moment for Logan.

Daddy Went To Texas & All We Got Were Cowboy Hats

But they are pretty darn cool.........

It All Makes Sense In Her Head

Me: "Hey Em, do you want something to drink?"
Emma: "Yes please, I would like an American fruit punch soda."
Me: "I'm not sure what that is..."
Emma: "Me either but it sure sounds good."

Happy Love Day

I was drawing hearts this morning and Miss Grumpy Pants said to me,"I don't like hearts, I like diamonds."

Don't we all my dear.

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

A Future Simon Cowell

I was singing in the car the other day and this conversation began.

Emma: "Momma you're a good singer.
Me: "You think so. Do you think I should try out for American Idol?"
Emma: "No. You're not that good."

When Painting Goes Wrong...Terribly Terribly Wrong

I went to the bathroom for about 3 minutes and came back to this. Apparently the paper just wasn't doing it for them.

And please tell me I'm not the only who thinks Emma looks like C. Thomas Howell in Soul Man.

Boosting My Self-Esteem One Day at a Time

I let the kids into the bathroom after showering so they could brush their teeth. Logan looked at me and said:

"Oh Mommy you shower. Yay! No more stinky lady."

I hope he inherits my morning funk.

The Devil Made Me Do It

Logan awoke with horns this morning...(you can see them much better if you click on the picture itself)... which may explain why the Elmo puppet book got to eat oatmeal too.

You Might Want to See a Doctor About That

Logan and Emma have a MP3 player hooked up to speakers in their bedroom so they can listen to music as they go to sleep at night. Emma claimed that the reason why she was so cranky this morning was the music was so loud last night that she couldn't sleep. When I told her that I had gone in and turned it off about 15 minutes after she went to bed she said:

"Yeah but my ears were already bleeding by then."

Do Not Disturb (a.k.a. Screw You Eli)

I'll be in mourning for the next week or so. Please don't expect much since I will be crying myself to sleep and won't have much energy for anything else. Good luck next season boys...I'm almost proud of you (sniff sniff).

Just a Little More Shuteye Please

Both of the children woke up unusually early this morning and for some reason they demanded that I get up with them. When I rolled over and pretended to go back to sleep Emma said:

"Let's go Momma. We're hungry and you're not noctural. Get up!"

Point taken Lou.
