I'm Not a Yuppy (or is it yuppie?)
To prove that I don't fit into the Panera mold, I must tell you this embarrassing story. I almost wish that this happened before my previous entry, it is slightly more entertaining.......
About 10 minutes after I posted the most boring blog entry known to man (see previous entry), I was working on a proposal while still seated at Panera Bread. Suddenly, I sensed a pressure building in my lower abdomen(DON'T WORRY KERRI, THIS IS PG)and decided it should be relieved. So I did the sensible thing and decided to let out a "test rip" to make sure it wasn't loud. I didn't hear anything but two people seated nearby casually looked at me. I dismissed it as paranoia because again, I didn't hear anything.
I then proceeded to let out some more pressure and this time I detected a barely audible sound. I looked around and noticed a few more people glancing my way but I thought they were just looking at me because I was looking at them.
So I let the rest out and it was a little louder but I thought it was still quiet enough to be undetectable from more than 2 feet away.....then came a shocking realization. Not only am I sitting on a vinyl bench seat,I am wearing my earphones, listening to music loud enough to drown out the "house music" playing over the restaurant's speakers.

I AM GOING TO TURN THE BLOGGING WORLD UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!
For those of you that don't know me I am Kerri's oldest and best looking brother who migrated south in 1991 and never returned, save the yearly(??) trip back north.
Kerri has given me the opportunity to post something on her blog but unfortunately I have nothing witty to say this morning. Well she has kind of handcuffed me by saying that it has to be clean because it is a family blog, so that eliminates about 80% of my material.
I am completely unprepared to be a blogger and I am buckling under the pressure as I sip coffee and eat a bagel at Panera. Yes Kerri and David I did say Panera, I know it will come as a shock to you that I come here and work in this yuppie environment but I'm just in it for the free Internet access.
I apologize for such a lame entry but I will think of something better to post in the near future. I must go to work now so that my kids can eat this month and hopefully the lights will stay on.
Wow this embarrassing, I should just delete this entire entry and start over....

Channelling Uncle Dippy (aka Stupid Joystick)
If you are not a blood relative of mine, this post might not make much sense. But it basically involves my younger brother's intense competitive spirit as a child.
Emma and I were playing a rousing game of Wii bowling this morning when all of a sudden her concentration slipped. Instead of blaming herself, Emma took out her aggressions on the remote.
"What is going on with this thing? It's not working for me. I was doing so good before. Can you fix this please?"

Children's Traveling Zoo
We met up with a friend yesterday to go see the Traveling Zoo in a parking lot in Framingham. The kids had a ton of fun running around and feeding all the animals. I should say Emma had a ton of fun feeding the animals while Logan clung to me like a baby chimpanzee. But when it came time for the pony ride, the big man stepped up to the plate and choose the largest pony there was. He had a blast riding Midnight and can't wait to meet up with him again in another supermarket parking lot in the future.

It's Not Easy Being a Big Sister
We went out to dinner with some friends yesterday and as usual the children had to go check out the bathrooms. Logan was fascinated by the toilets and kept flushing them repeatedly (even when someone was sitting on them). After I told him 16 times to stop, we exited the stall only to have him run back in to flush it one more time. Emma looked at the woman washing her hands and said in her most exasperated voice.
"Oh little brothers. What can you do?"

He's Got a Bright (Cross-Dressing) Future
If you read this blog, you know my youngest child has a penchant for wearing his sister's princess dresses. This morning he brought one to me and begged me to put it on him so he could "look pretty." When I told him that maybe little boys shouldn't wear dresses he looked at me with his eyes all big and said.
"But Momma...I NEED dresses."
I'll love him no matter what........

She's Been Reading the Dictionary Again
Emma was making a picture for one of her friends at school. It was time for lunch so I asked her if she was done with it yet. Her response:
"I just need to put the finishing touches on it and then it will be splendid."

It Just Rolls Off Your Tongue
We were watching the Sox play last night when the Tigers second baseman made an error. When the announcer (my man Jerry) said his name Emma started repeated it over and over under her breath.
"Placido Polanco, Placido Polanco, Placido Polanco, Placido Polanco."
Then she looked at me and said,
"That's really fun to say."

Channeling Billy Joe Bobby Ray
Emma has been trying to master her (butter) knife skills so she asked me if she could butter my roll for me at dinner. When she handed it back to me I thanked her. Her response?
"Oh shucks, you don't have to thank me."
I looked over at her expecting her to have a piece of hay hanging from her mouth but it was still full of chicken pot pie. As long as she doesn't start dipping tobacco and humming Deliverance, I'm happy.

Dexter the Dog
Logan has a new alter ego. He is transformed, on at least 7 occasions daily, into a puppy who crawls around on all fours and pants feverishly. Emma has named him Dexter and here's his close-up.
I'm hoping that we can just use Logan instead of the real puppy that Emma & Adam want to acquire. Now if I can just get him to stop licking everything and get him housetrained we'll be all set.

Meeting The Cousins
We headed down to visit a portion of Adam's family yesterday to meet up with the two new cousins in the family. The kids had so much fun with the babies.
Logan telling Benjamin a story (and Emma hamming it up for the camera)
Introducing Joshua Alexander (such a little peanut)
Of course it wouldn't be a party without Logan in drag
Benjamin
Emma holding Benjamin
I once again forgot the memory card for my camera so I have to thank Lindsay for the pictures.
