My Little Tech Guy
Logan has finally gotten to a height where he can reach the counter tops (and the light switches but that's a post for a different day). Today he was trying desperately to punch at the keys on my laptop which I keep on the kitchen counter. When I told him not to touch it, he looked at me and said:
"But Mommy, I need to work on my website."

Might Be Time For An Anatomy Lesson
I was in the bathroom when Emma started knocking on the door telling me she had to use the facilities. As I reminded her that there were 2 other available toilets in the house she said:
"I can't go upstairs. I have to go so bad. Momma I have to go SO BAD. I have to go so bad that I'm crossing my wrists."

A Glimpse of the Future
Logan: "Mommy, my belly feels funny."
Me: "Are you hungry?"
Logan: "No my belly not hungry."
Me: "What's wrong with it?"
Logan: "I think it wants food."
On a similar note...my son is going through a growth spurt (or he has a tapeworm) the last few days. Besides the leg pains he has been having at night, he is eating about twelve times a day. As of right now at 12:40 p.m. he has eaten:
Breakfast 7:00: 2 bowls of Rice Krispies & a banana
After Breakfast Snack 9:00: A box of raisins
After After Breakfast Snack 10:30: An apple
Lunch 12:15: An entire cheese quesadillas and at least 10 whole strawberries.
And this is coming from the kid who might eat one meal a day and rarely asks for a snack.
I have seen a glimpse of his teenage years and I think I need to start saving money for the grocery bills now.

An Army Daughter
Adam was playing a game on the Wii Fit where you have a bunch of balls with various people's faces plastered on them and you have to get them all into a hole in order to advance to the next level. He was having difficulty getting one of the balls to cooperate when Emma offered this sage advice:
"C'mon Dad. We don't leave a man behind."

Remembering....
I am taking today to hug my kids a little tighter, to be thankful that my husband serves in a unit that stays on U.S. soil, and to remember all those who lost their lives 7 years ago and all those who have been killed or injured since fighting for their country.

Logan: "Mommy, Daddy & I are going to Dunkin Donuts. But you girls can't come because you are a disappointed to us."

A Trip Down Memory Lane
Emma & Logan were cuddling on the chair looking at a special photo album that has our wedding pictures & some of Emma's baby pictures in it. Here is some of the things I overheard.
Emma: "Here's Momma & Daddy on their wedding day. It doesn't look like them because they were young and all prettied up."
Emma: "Here they are celebrating....aren't they romantic?"
Logan: "Where am I?"
Emma: "Look how cute I was. This was my first Halloween. I got so much candy that my belly hurt for days." (She was 3 months old her 1st Halloween)
Logan: "Where am I?"
Emma: "Here's Kelsey & Morgan holding me for the 1st time. I think one of them dropped me." (It would explain so much)
Logan: "Where did I go then?"
Emma: "Logan this was before you were born. Back when we were a quiet family."
Emma: "This is me and Ricky staring at each other. I think that was the day we became boyfriend & girlfriend."
Logan: "Emmy, let's look at pictures of just me now ok?."

Meet Loqift
"Mommy look at me. I spelled my name. Take a picture of me please."
I was very impressed that he got the first 2 letters right since usually when you ask him how to spell his name he says, "A E F K Z" or something along those lines.
And is it just me or does the boy look like he's 7 in this picture?

P.S. See all those scratches on my new fridge. Caused by the very letters he used to spell his name. It is pretty much like that from top to bottom (or at least all the places the kids can reach). Me not happy.

We are the Champions
Emma & Logan were having breakfast this morning when Logan started this conversation:
Logan: "Emma you're the champion."
Emma: "The champion of what?"
Logan (after a long pause): "Um you're the champion of something."
Emma: "Logan you do know that that's not exciting to me right?"
